Into the Abyss

Hey, guys! Boom, a new song! I recently (Read: Last night) decided that I should give one of these thirty day challenge things a go. Whilst I’ll aim to do it, doing a song a day is mad hard work, so I might have to spread it out little bit more, but I will definitely strive to do all thirty songs.

“But which,” I hear you asking, “Challenge are you going to do, Matt?” Well! I’ve been a massive fan of Dark Souls since it came out, and so, I’m going to try and do the Thirty Days (Sort of maybe kinda) Dark Souls Challenge! Heck yeah!

So, day one, let’s do this!

Day 1: Who is your favourite NPC?

For me, that would have to be Knight Artorias. He’s just so absolutely tragic a character, and I fell in love with him pretty much as soon as I found out even the smallest morsels of information. From his days of a hero to his fall into a terrifying monster, he is simply brilliant. For me, this song is when he went into the Abyss, the home of the Dark Wraiths. Is it something different for you? I’d love to know!

With any luck, I’ll be answering tomorrow’s question, “Favourite Weapon,” tomorrow!

The sun has broken the clouds over the UK, and frankly, it’s really quite beautiful. I am finding a whole new kind of respect for Walt Ribeiro, a man who has been laying down consistently amazing orchestra versions of a whole bunch of songs.

In a fit of “Hey, I wanna try that!”, I found myself making a remix of Nirvana’s You Know You’re Right, and just realised how much work it is to keep the feel of the song, to keep it fresh and interesting, to place the instruments just so to make them pop, whilst also sounding like they’re something actually being played rather than just a digital sound.

Seriously, if you haven’t checked out Walt’s stuff, do it now, because it is amazing, inspiring, and crazy.

A (very quick) Homestuck Theory under the cut.

So, we know that all of The Felt have a time related power, and we know that Caliborn is the Lord of Time. I’m starting to get the feeling that all of Caliborn’s powers will be personified through The Felt, showing us which ones he has ‘unlocked’, even if he doesn’t yet know how to use them.

I guess this is less a theory and a “Well, Caliborn is going to end up badass” if this thought is in any way correct. Okay I’m done.

Hey guys!

I was making myself a new guitar tone to go with a new project I’m starting, and this is what spilled out when I wanted to give it a try. This is by no means the end of the song, but I thought I should keep everyone in the loop about what I’m doing. Hoohah.
